Collins tells the story of a young red-haired boy from a small Newfoundland out port town who endures a lot of abuse and ridicule for being different. When he leaves home to make a living, his journey takes him to some wild and unimaginable places.
The Crackie was a delight to read and very inspiring. It brings to light the bad times we must face in our life. The key is how we deal with them. The book sure rose to the occasion.
