Remote Control by Jack Heath

This book is about an agent in a group called The Deck which has 54 agents in it, each with a different card name from a deck of cards (including the two jokers). The main character is the Six of Hearts and his twin brother Kyntak (one of the jokers) and they’re trying to find their twin sister Nai. They have to go past the evil Methryn Crexe and the very mean and nasty Vanish.
At the start of this book, I didn’t understand why it was called Remote Control, but later the book started to talk about a whole bunch of remote controls. I loved this book because I’m into action books and this book had the most action in it then any other book I’ve read.
I usually look at the back of a book before I start reading it, and on the back of this book it says lovers of Anthony Horowitz Alex Rider series would love this book. I’m a big fan of the Alex Rider books, but I think that this book is better then more then half of the Alex Rider books combined.
At the start, I didn’t really understand what they were talking about but then later I learned more and more and it told me a lot about the start of the book. That happened a lot in this book which I think is okay.
There were several times where I was almost positive that what I was thinking was going to happen but something totally different happens and I love books like that. There were surprises from start to finish. There were creepy parts, surprising parts, cool parts, and there was even one little sad part in it.
The ending was nothing I thought it would be in a surprising way. I thought it would end in a happy ending, but it ended unfinished, as if there would be another book. I’m not sure if there is a sequel, but if there is I will buy it for sure. I’d give this book a nine and a half out of ten.
From the Publisher:
Agent Six of Hearts, a sixteen-year-old superhuman, is on a mission. His brother Kyntak has been kidnapped. A strange and sinister new figure is gaining in power in the City. Six is suspected of being a double agent. The Deck has been put on lockdown by the Queen of Spades. And a mysterious girl has appeared who acts as Six’s guardian angel. Who can he trust? As the clock ticks steadily against Kyntak’s life, Six of Hearts is on the run: from his past, from his fellow agents at the Deck, even from his own DNA.
