“Miracles Happen” is true story about a man who was nearly killed doing what he loves. Rendell Drover was a fisherman who loved working and lead a very active life. The book, written by his wife, tells the heartbreaking story of how Rendell was on the wharf working when he was tragically hit by a large forklift in front of his sons and other family members. Drover covers how life was before her husband’s tragic accident, to the long recovery in and out of hospitals, and how their lives have been changed forever. Interesting read from start to finish, while hoping for his recovery at every page.

Drover’s book tells the real life story of her husband who was seriously injured in a terrible accident on the fishing wharf in Upper Island Cove, NL, back in 2010. Rendell Drover was not expected to survive. But he did.
I read this book at night on a flight heading to Toronto; and I am glad I did. My seat made for the perfect hideaway so that no one could see the tears running down my cheek. I could not put the book down. The story told here is a very personal one for the Drover family. It reminds us how our life can be turned upside down at any time. How any one family can endure so much but yet remain so positive and learn to rebuild their life is simply amazing.
I really enjoyed this book. Thank you, Mrs Drover, for sharing your story.
