After the death of his father, 12-year-old Jacob is sent to live with his fraternal grandparents for the summer. Jacob doesn’t know anything about them. He has two months to figure out why his father never spoke of them. Along the way he meets some unusual characters, not the least of which is his blind grandfather (who prefers to be called Captain) and a whole cast of eccentric family members and new friends.
This is a sweet, endearing book about a little boy becoming a young man.
