Brad Thor’s Hidden Order is a story about homegrown terror. It deals with topics such as free-market economics, political propaganda, espionage, conspiracy, and murder. At the forefront of the storyline is the Federal Reserve—an organization that operates without accountability and pretends to be a part of the United States government; their power is immeasurable. When their chairman dies unexpectedly, five external candidates are considered for the new role. And then, one-by-one, each of the candidates disappears and some are even brutally murdered.
The Federal Reserve recruits the help of ex-Navy Seal, Scot Harvath. Working with his own counter-terrorism group and enlisting help from trusted external “consultants”, he begins to unravel the layers surrounding these mysterious disappearances, suspecting an evil plot rooted in a sinister-like American unit that was founded over 250 years ago.
If you think this is thrilling enough. Wait. There is another equally thrilling plot being played out here too. It centers on a possible terrorist attack against the United States. CIA agent, Lydia Ryan, is approached by a Jordanian intelligence official who suspects a terrorist plan against the US. Bringing this information to her superior, she quickly learns that all is not what it seems and so she is forced to turn to her one trusted confidante for help. But in no time they both find themselves a target for assassination and are on the run for their lives.
Both plots eventually converge to create a pretty plausible and disturbing climax. This intelligently written piece of work will have you on the edge of your seat. Not only will you be entertained by the suspense and drama unfolding, but you’ll also get a quick history into the early US political scene as well. Hidden Order is full of twists and turns. It’s a race against time with a whodunit mentality that is sure to provide an action-packed and thought-provoking read to those of you who enjoy CSI or James Bond-like storylines.
