This was my first book by Patricia Briggs and I have already been to the bookstore to get more.
I started this book while on the plane to a two-week family vacation! Thank goodness it was a three-hour flight, as I could not put it down!!
Burn Bright is not the first in the Alpha and Omega series, but you would never know it. I typically don’t like jumping into a series at book 6 but, despite coming late to the game, the story didn’t leave you feeling like you missed something. I can’t wait to read the first 5 books!!
When a distress call comes in from the mate of a wildling when the Alpha is out of town, Charles (the acting Alpha) and Anna (his mate) and the Omega, head out to help right away. When they arrive at the remote cottage, they discover that someone is trying to kidnap one of their own. Despite their attempts to stop the kidnapping, what started out as a simply rescue mission quickly escalates and – before they know it – they are thrown into a search for a traitor in their midst.
In the process of warning the others, Anna finds herself helping a wildling to escape the prison of his own mind and discovering some very old magic that may or may not be the key to finding out who the betrayer is. Both Charles and Anna must trust their instincts and each other to ensure the future of their pack but they must warn the others and find out who is selling out the pack before anyone else gets hurt.
